Advantages: It has an original storyline

Disadvantages: It has the ability to make you jump.

Imagine the perfect horror film set in a High School, complete with a herd of futher-than-belief brain-washing aliens, and team this up with a cast of young and vibrant new actors and what do you get?

The Sci-fi horror flick, The Faculty.

Once teamed up with the writer of the Scream trilogy, you get this truly original and extraordinary film.

As i watched the film for the first time, it intrigued me from the beginning right up to the end, without even a glimpse of a dull 'snack re-fill' area and even with it's brush with real life topics such as drugs and violence, it even has room for laughs.

The story is set around a group of students at Herrington High. As in most American High schools, they are divided into the typical loners, losers, nerds, cheerleaders, outcasts and jocks.

As mind-controlling parasites rapidly spread from the faculty to the students, it confirms there worst suspicions, that there teachers really are from another planet.

As strange situations start to happen, such as teachers showing up in the boys showers, and the overwhelming need for as much water in the teachers faculty as possible, the pupils decide to forget there differences and work together.

Writer Kevin Williamson delivers a creative storyline, with never-been-done-before scenes, and with the help of director Robert Rodrigez, it presents a chilling and exiting unpredictable hit.

Actors Elijah Wood (Flipper, Deep Impact), Josh Harnett (Halloween H20), Laura Harris, Clea Duvall, Shawn Hatosy, Bebe Neuwirth and Salma Hayek star, complete with the singer/actor, Usher Raymond.

Indubitably the trailers give it justice, so for all you horror, comedy, action of sci-fi fans, it is definitely worth a look!

Good op - I loved this film, one of the funnier buffy-style teen flicks out these days.
