We all have to make decisions in our life and how many of us have thought “What if”, I know I have. I have made decisions and then think back and wonder if my life would have been different. If you wonder too then this film is for you.

The Plot
=======

Jack Campbell is a very successful man; he is president of a major Wall Street company. Jack has money, power and as many women as he wants, he has everything he needs.

Jack gets caught up in a grocery store hold up and in an act of bravery he disarms the gunman who in turn for his good deed gives Jack a glimpse of a life he could have had.

Jack goes back to his luxurious Manhattan apartment on Christmas Eve and falls asleep, he wakes up on Christmas morning next to his college sweetheart Kate Reynolds, who he has not seen in 13 years when he left New York to pursue his career in London.

Not only is Jack married to Kate but also they have two children and they live in Suburban New Jersey. Jack is horrified about this change to his life and speeds back to his apartment and his office building to discover that he is not part of the world anymore.

Jack must now live out this new life and discover whether anything is missing from his life.

I am a fan of Nicholas Cage, I think he is a superb actor but he gives an excellent performance in this film as Jack, Cage is able to show such expressions through his face that makes his performance believable.

His on screen chemistry with Tea Leoni makes them a perfect couple. Leoni plays her character very well she has a down to earth approach and therefore she implies in the film that she is a perfect wife.

Overview
========

I do not think there is one person in the world that has not wondered “What if “ and that is what this film is about. All decision you make have an effective on your life, so think wisely also even when you think you have all that you need there might be something that you hadn’t even imagined.

The best part in this film is when Jack is back to his real film and you see the difference the glimpse has man to him. Jack was happy with his life before the “What if” but once he knows what could have been he finds himself looking for a second chance.

The comedy is very subtle it will not split your sides with laughter but Annie, the daughter, has some funny scenes with Jack, as she’s the only one who has realised that Jack isn’t who he used to be.

As I have mentioned I am a fan of Nicholas Cage and there is not many films of his that I do not like but this has to be one of his best that he did not receive much recognition for.

I highly recommend this DVD, it is certificated 15 and I bought for about £8.
