Advantages: Originality , Special effects, Great performances from all the cast (particuarly entertaining show from Chris Tucker)
Disadvantages: Might be a bit confused at the beginning, You can see the ending from a mile off
I loved this film. It had everything it needed for an entertaining watch - Originality, convincing performances from the cast, great special effects, humour, plenty of action and of course, what every film cannot do without, love! The Earth is being threatened by a great ball which is heading towards earth. Only problem is, this big rock-thing grows larger as they shoot and attack it (knew there'd be a problem) as it represents evil and we all know that no matter how hard you try, you just can't kill bad things with er... more bad things. Only one thing can save the earth, and that's the 5th element, which was taken, along with the stones it needs to activate it, a few hundred years ago, by some friendly 'beings' who protected, and kept it safe. (Figures) Now how many people are going to believe that when an old religious man comes to the president of the world, and feeds him that explanation? Exactly. However, things start to look up, when the friendly beings come back to earth, to return the 5th element, along with the stones. No of course it can't go as smoothly as that, otherwise we'd never get to see Mr. Die hard Willis and supermodel Jovovich in no more than a white net. The ship carrying the 5th element, the stones is attacked by Zorg - the ultimate bad guy - or more precisely, his men. The craft is recovered, and only a metal hand is found. It appears to be dead, however, it contains enough DNA and 'stuff' (sorry, i'm not all for detail) to rebuild a human out of, so using the high tech equiptment designed and created in these days, they make a person. A body... actually a very beautiful woman with orange hair! - The 5th Element. (Jovovich). Now Zorg is after these stones, and recovers a box, which is supposedly holding the stones. Of course it isn't. The stones were hidden for safety, and it's up to Bruce Willis to get them! Mr Corbin Dallas (sorry for spellin
g) is an ex police man, re-assigned to find these stones. He is sent to a planet, which is a luxury holiday resort. There, he searches for the stones, with the help of Leeloo (Jovovich) - the now very mobile 5th Element - who he met, by freak chance, after she fell from the sky, into his car (Oh how you wish that happened on a daily basis huh fellas?) The story after that, is a lot of action, a lot of laughs, a lot of drama, a lot of entertainment, and a little bit of love. It's a great, light-hearted and most entertaining watch, and i definitely recommend it.
