Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis teams up with John Carpenter again to make an early eighties fright flick about a lethal group of undead pirates that lay siege to a small oceanside town to reclaim the gold that was stolen from them while they lived. They travel with a mysterious fog that luminates and defies wind currents, a truly haunting vessel.

This film has an interesting cast consisting of Hal Holbrook, the forementioned scream queen and Adrianne Barbeau. Carpenter makes sure we get loads of chills during the plot development as victims of the ghostly pirates are found, seemingly waterlogged, even though they were just dispatched recently.

A feeling of horror comes with the accompanying "fear of the unknown" as The Fog comes to shore to seek out the gold and kill those decendants responsible for their demise. This isn't Mr. Carpenter's best movie but it still ranks as an excellent horror.
