'The Football Factory' is the 2004 film from the director Nick Love. It stars Danny Dyer and just as the title would inform you, it focuses on football hooliganism and the violence that takes place when two rival football firms come together. Football violence has long been a fascination of mine, it's an exciting and yet really quite ridiculous element of the great game that is football. When football games are played, it is often organised beforehand a meeting place for the game, an arena at which to fight it out; a clash of the titans as fans from either side pit it out in a no holds barred brutal bloody battle. The FA Cup is without doubt the most ... Read the complete review

Scowering the Internet to read up on what critics have already said about Nick Love's The Football Factory proved more difficult than I first thought. It seems a lot of the "Big Dawg" film sites were reluctant to fully review this portrayal of British thug culture, and dismissed it as a simple glorification of the common British football lout. The film is shot in a documentary style, and focuses upon two main firms: The Headhunters of Chelsea, and The Bushwackers of the violently popular Millwall. Tommy Johnson (Danny Dyer) is the main character of the story- who lives for the weekend, casual sex, watered down lager, heavily cut drugs, and ... Read the complete review

This film runs for 87 minutes and has excitement running all the way through it. This film takes a look at the average hooligan on a ... Read the complete review

The film is based on the hit novel 'football factory' written by John King in 1997. The main theme is football violence, a phenomenon which has continued in Britain since the 1970's. The storyline follows the firms of Chelsea and Millwall, the Headhunters and Bushwackers respectively, on many away trips up and down the country until the two are drawn to play each other in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The story is told by Tommy Johnson played by Danny Dyer, he is the main character about thirty years old with a steady job, but lives for Saturdays when he can go out and have a fight with his firm the Headhunters. Tommy's best mates are Rod (Neil Maskell) and Zeberdee ... Read the complete review
