... film which I guess you need to explain the storyline, characters, etc but these are more than made up for with some of the most impressive action scenes I've seen. I've always loved Jackie Chan's films for their mix of comedy moments with incredibly impressive martial arts stunts and sequences, but I must say that some of the sequences in this film are right up there with the best I've seen in any film. The picture quality blew me away too, but bear in mind this was my first experience of a BlueRay disc and as su...more

Premium Review The Forbidden Kingdom (Blu-ray): A typical, good fun, Jackie Chan romp (233 words)

I borrowed this BlueRay disc from my parents to try out my new ps3/HD tv combo and found it both a very entertaining film and very impressive in detail and picture quality. Perhaps if there was a kid's film that managed to appeal to the younger crowd whilst still having merit as a martial arts ...  Read the complete review

As like a lot of people - I took advantage of the great offers from Lovefilm and rented out a lot of new releases on Blu-ray a few months ago. The Forbidden Kingdom, has to be one of the best movies I've seen on Blu-ray this year. I was tempted to go see this at the cinema, but sadly missed out at the last minute. Lucky for me, Lovefilm were extra kind to me and got this movie to me almost straight after joining them! Jackie Chan stars in this American martial arts film, which is an adventure and some tongue-in-cheek comedy moments, with Jet Li tagging along for good measures! The starring cast is enough to get any martial arts fan ...  Read the complete review
