Being an incorrigible Will Smith fan, I have always loved the Fresh Prince of Bel Air sitcoms, with the wise-crack jokes, the lanky dances and Will Smith's incomparable tongue-in-the cheek acting. Just reviewing this 1990 classic is bringing fond memories back to me, and like I am sure it is for many other viewers, the first season remains undoubtedly the best in the series. I was overjoyed when I finally managed to purchase a DVD copy of the First Season, and I must say that Will Smith's acting will never cease to impress me. This collection is so funny - 25 episodes in one season (that has to be a record). Season one takes it all the way back to 1994, and it's hilarious to see the fresh-faced cast (even Uncle Phil looks young). For a tenner, it's a steal! WHAT IS IT ABOUT: An American sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air stars a young Will Smith as a street wise Philadelphia lad who goes to live with his posh relatives in Bel Air. The show is a comedy that draws much of its fun from the way Will clashes with the Banks family's way of life, particularly that of his cousin Carlton. The show ran 6 seasons. IS IT ANY GOOD: Here's a show that I watched as a teen ... Read the complete review

Rating:
Will Smith is now one of the biggest names in show business, and he has numerous consecutive smash #1 box office hits in America and worldwide, but without The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, he wouldn't be known to us at all. It's a compelling show that's funny but also tackles serious personal and familiar themes, as well as looking at the social forces acting upon its characters, and thus it's one of the more intelligent shows aimed at a young audience, carried undeniably by Smith's sheer charisma. The show revolves around Smith's character who is also called Will, who is a wily and smart kid from West Philadelphia who is sent to live with his well-off relatives ...
