This film revloves around a college student who is railroaded into working for the Godfather (or rather a mafia boss) by a chain of events outside his control. The film stars Matthew Broderick as the the student, and MArlon Brando as the mob boss, and he's just like he is in the Godfather, although this is very definittely a comedy film, no one dies or anything! At one point Broderick is so involved that he thinks that he's going to have to marry the boss' daughter, but it turns out it's all a ruse to get the governement off his back, as he's been pretending to serve up endangered species to customers at special balls. Is this that film with matthew broderick as a freshman in film school then becomes tied up with the mafia and has to look after a komodo dragon the the final scene is in this big tent in a corn field where people are eating endangered species and all the bad guys go to jail and every thign works out juuuuuust fine for our hero and his komodo dragon and then he gets back to film school and aces the big test that he will get chucked out of if he dosen't pass? oh, and does he get the girl? ... The Freshman sees the character of Vito Corleone from the first Godfather film resurected and employing film student Mathew Broderick to transport endangered species around the country. The film is very fast moving as we see Broderick getting into a big predicament very fast. Acting is great from the stressed out Broderick to Brando hamming up his Godfather role. The storyline is very original and the characters very eccentric and appealing, in paticular Brodericks film school professor, the aformentioned Brando as a hammed up Corleone, Brodericks off the wall father and Broderick himself as a misplaced and miscircumstanced film student. ...
