The Grudge was a solid remake of the Japanese horror film Ju-On, and in fact probably the best J-horror remake behind the great adaptation of The Ring. The Ring 2, though, was a dreadful sequel, and it's therefore no surprise that the third film has gone straight to DVD. I'm probably a masochist or something, because I checked out this even shoddier film too. This is a pretty scary horror movie. The film is set in Chicago and is basicaly followed on from the last Grudge movie. The movie begins in a mental hospital with a small boy pleading with his doctor not to leave him alone as he knows he will die if she does. Sure enough along comes the scary Kayako once he is left alone and this is a pretty distubing scene. The rest of the film is set in the apartment building where Jake and his parents lived. Jakes parents have already been killed by the crawling ghost.
