Advantages: Plot, cast, humour

Disadvantages: None

Now, if you have seen the trailer for this movie you will not be expecting a serious movie - a plot based around 4 guys going on a stag do to Las Vegas two days before the wedding, and called The Hangover doesn't sound serious!

So we have a comedy on our hands.

Plot
Without spoilers I promise - 4 youngish guys drive to Las vegas to celebrate Doug's last few nights of freedom! At the beginning of the film we are met with three guys left (minus the groom), trying to piece together what happened the night before and most importantly where they have managed to lose the groom!

The plot follows the hilarious story of the guys retracing their steps on the big night to try and see what happened and to find their friend and get him to the church on time!

If you have seen the trailer you will know that this involves Tigers, Mike Tyson and strippers, plus a random baby!

So not just your average Saturday night then!

Cast
The cast is headed up by Bradley Cooper who plays Phil (Doug's oldest friend), a normally responsible school teacher who goes wild. Phil manages to remain calm in tight situations and made me laugh constantly with his one liners.

Ed Helms plays Stu - another old friend of Phil who is totally under the thumb of his bully girlfriend Melissa. Phil is a dentist which leads to lots of jokes, but I's not saying any more. Again Phil had me roaring with laughter!

Zac Galifianakis plays Alan the brother of the bride. A bit wierd with a horrible beard - and, just as Stu, Phil and Doug don't quite know what to make of him the audience doesnt either, although you will laugh at his antics.

Heather Graham plays a stripper who the guys encounter on their night out! She looks beautiful and is a likeable and funny character.

Mike Tyson: Has a notable cameo as himself - can't say too much without ruining the plot but shall we say he adds something to the storyline!

Humour
My concern with this film was that it was going to be all very childish obvious humour - people getting punched and falling over, men drinking too much and vomiting, that sort of thing!

I was pleasantly surprised - there was a bit of the obvious stuff, several moments when you felt very guilty laughing at the guys getting hurt but it was funny dammit so I don't care.

There were humourous characters and cameos - Mike Tyson being the obvious one, but croupiers, strippers, police all have their moments!

There are also a great number of one liners - they are not all basic - a lot of them are really witty and certainly not all sex related.

Did you guess the ending?
Well I didn't work out the answer to the "where's Doug" problem at all, and I am not going to tell you if they find him or not!

What did I think?
I loved this movie - from the serious opening through the utter chaos that happens I was laughing from beginning to end and left the cinema with a grin on my face. I loved the ensemble cast and thought that there was a real chemistry between the actors, none of whom I have seen in movies before. I will just say one thing - you must say for the final credits of this film as all is revealed (and there are a few bits which willl make you go YUK!!!! but it is still funny)

Go see this before it finishes at the cinema if you want to be cheered up and have a couple of hours of total escapism!

Summary: A feel good movie that will make you laugh!

I've been thinking of seeing this one. I was expecting it to be really childish aswell, thanks for putting my mind at ease.
