Advantages: Funny film
Disadvantages: None
This was a comedy film that was a lot better than I expected it to be and while it would not make my top twenty comedy list it si stil a funny film that is well worth checking out in my humble opinion.
The basic lot sees four buddies heading off to Las Vegas for a big old stag party two days before one of the group, Doug, is due to get married. However the film opens the morning after the big night and only three of the stags remain, Doug the groom is missing and the three must try and piece together the events of the previous night in order to track down their friend, a sort of Dude Where is my Groom sort of scenario.
Violently hungover the three have only hazy memories of what actually happened. Dougs best and longest fined is Phil, played by Bradley Cooper while his other two friends are Stu played by Ed Helms and Alan who is the brother of the bride and is played by Zac Galifianakis, his character is rather offbeat and one that I found to be very funny. Heather Graham is a familiar face and she plays a stripper who the guys encountered on the night and Mike Tyson has a part in the film as well.
While there are some of the obvious jokes in this film what was a pleasant surprise was the fact that the dialogue was very sharp and witty with some excellent one liners and some clever banter between the three lead characters.
There is a bit of gross out humour in the film but nothing too unpleasant and overall I found myself laughing quite a bit. All three lead characters but in good solid performances and I would recommend this film as being worth seeing.
Summary: Good comedy
