The Hangover (DVD)
Advantages: Just hilarious
Two days before his wedding Doug (Justin Bartha), heads to Las Vegas for his stag do with his two best friends, Phil (Bradley Cooper) and Stu (Ed Helms), and his future brides slightly disturbed brother, Alan (Zach Galifianakis).
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas is the saying, well in this absolutely brilliant comedy this involves tigers in bathrooms, naked Chinese Gangsters in car boots and a missing groom.
As the boys settle into an expensive penthouse in Caesars Palace, they head to the roof to drink to the wedding and a great stag do, the next morning, there is carnage, a missing groom and lots of questions which our three heros have to figure out through amazing hangovers. Can the groom be found and the wedding saved or will the guys have to admit to the bride and their families what happened in Vegas.

I did expect this to be a dumb comedy, but it is brilliant, the jokes are spot on, it doesn't patronise or rely on idiotic set pieces, it is a thoughtless destructive film which follows two repressed men a bride groom and a crazed brother in law.
Brought into the story are a surprise wedding a tiger, Mike Tyson and a very angry naked Chinese Gangster, these twists all pull together around a brilliant script, the cast are superb with Bradley Cooper playing a very cool guy while Zach Galifianakis is a revelation as the childlike brother in law who in his desire to bond with his new friends possibly pushes things too far!!
The film has loads of memorable lines, excellent acting, great scripting and is just laugh out loud funny, it's a 5 out of 5 for me as one of the best comedies I've seen in recent years. The ending is a little bit weak and in some ways the finale is a bit staged but its hilarious and that outweighs these issues.
The film is available for rental via Lovefilm which is how I watched it but can be bought from Amazon for £9.98.
