I have been on a bit of a positive mood lately and have loved watching my comedies, first it was 'Good Luck Chuck' which I already reviewed and the next film on my list was one called 'The Heartbreak Kid'. I first saw the trailers for this just before I was going to be returning to university and I am a Ben Stiller fan so I thought it looked hilarious and really wanted to see it. However, when I got to university I forgot all about it but then my friend was also given this film by her relative so I got the chance to watch it which made me happy. So, the film begins with us meeting Eddie Cantrow (Ben Stiller), he and his dad are having a conversation and his ... Read the complete review

This is a film starring Ben Stiller and given that he has again linked up to the Farrelly Brothers you can expect some fairly gross comedy to take place however personally I did not find this film too gross in fact it was very funny in places and a very competent comedy. Stiller plays single guy Eddie antrow who has problems making commitments in his personal life, the film opens with him being humiliated at the former love of his lifes wedding, first he is on a table full of children because it is where all the singles sit, watch out for the two twins who are hilarious. Later when he tries to stop the mugging of an attractive blond Lila, played by the ... Read the complete review

The Farrelly Brothers have only really felt true recognition off the back of There's Something About Mary; it had the right blend of good humour and sickness to wow a mass audience, but most importantly it ended well. Since then their movies have included split personalities, conjoined twins, and incest; all failing to get the praise they might have achieved had There's Something About Mary never existed. Luckily a re-partnering we Mary's lead actor Ben Stiller, and a similar series of plot devices allow The Heartbreak Kid to be the funniest offering from the brothers in a good few years. Eddie Cantrow (Ben Stiller) is a lonely man, now in his 40's he realises ... Read the complete review

I quite enjoyed this movie, certainly not a comedy classic but it does have some real laugh out loud moments. It centres on 40 something Eddie (Stiller), sportshop owner and nice guy who after being humiliated at his ex-fiancee's wedding finally succumbs to the pressure from his friend Mac and philandering father (Jerry Stiller, the dad in King of Queens) and marries in haste to the lovely Lila ( Malin Akerman - Watchmen) who he sort of rescued from a street mugging. Repenting at leisure, on the journey to their Mexican honeymoon, her non-stop singing begins to grate but it's nothing compared to the other delights this fully paid up mentalist has in store ...
