Driving a car for someone 2000 miles across America, from Chicago to San Diego, Jim Halsey is falling asleep at the wheel, so when he sees a hitchhiker on the side of the road he decides to go against his mother's advice and pick him up. The hitchhiker says his name is John Ryder but he refuses to give any other information, including where he is heading. Ryder forces Jim to speed past an abandoned vehicle at the side of the road, and this sparks Jim to be suspicious of his passenger. As a result he stops the car and asks him to leave the vehicle. Students Jim Halsey and Grace Andrews are looking forward to their Spring Break, which first involves a long car journey, driving through the night. When someone suddenly appears in front of the car headlights, they skid and manage to miss him. Being in the middle of nowhere, they don't stop, but call at the next petrol station to report a possible accident. Then the victim, called John Ryder, arrives at the petrol station himself and asks Jim for a lift - out of embarrassment at the fact that they originally refused to help him, Jim agrees. Shortly after the journey begins, however, it becomes clear that John is not a very nice man. Jim and Grace manage to get rid of ... Read the complete review

The Hitcher is the latest Platinum Dunes production effort and follows the pattern through and through. The 1986 original is a bit of a cult horror movie (much like Amityville and Texas ... The Hitcher is a 2007 horror film remake starring Sean Bean it's rated 18 as it's very violent and it runs for approximately 84 minutes. Despite my love of this film it actually only grossed an extremely disappointing $23,153,663 at the box office and only 20% of the reviews of this film were actually positive... not a great start is it?! Infact this film is apparently so bad that it's actually been voted number 12 of the worst remakes of all time! The Hitcher is directed by Dave Meyers who's a notorious music video director. He's worked with artists such as: Kelly Clarkson, Jay Z, Aaliyah, Pink, Missy Elliot and of course good old Britney Spears! Michael Bay ... Read the complete review
