Advantages: The new mini fits the film perfectly, Choice of music is excellent, The film has everything

Disadvantages: There aren't any

Now I know that this film is not due out in cinemas until next week sometime, and so some of you may feel that this review is a load of rubbish, but thanks to some friends who work in a mini showroom, I was invited to go along and watch a special showing of the film with the employees of the showroom. The reason this opportunity arose, is because most of you know that the original Italian job was made special with the feature of the old mini, and the new, more modern make of the Italian job is no exception, and it to makes a big deal about the mini and so it is only fair the people who sell these cars get first dips at watching the film.

Anyway the action started before I even got to the cinema, I felt I was in a scene of the Italian Job itself when we made our way to the top floor of the multi-story car park, and would you believe it, it was absolutely cram packed with minis of all different colors, it really was a Kodak moment.

Anyway, it seemed everyone had arrived so after getting the popcorn and everything we finally got to the beginning of the film. Now I?m not the kind of person that reads magazine reviews of films and because I hadn't seen the original, I didn?t know quite to expect, all I knew was that, the mini made the original 'big'. However I didn?t let this put me off and I wasn't disappointed, the start of the film was great, everything you need in an opener. I won't give the storyline but i'll just say that Venice was a great choice of location for the start. I could tell straight from the beginning that this film was going to be big, mainly due to the action within the first ten minutes, with a stunning boat chase, and background music that really added atmosphere to the overall performance and beginning.

This wasn't all that was surprising, the cast that feature in the beginning made me think of oceans eleven, with all the big name movie stars, for example 'Mark Whalberg' (planet o
f the apes), 'Edward Norton' (Red Dragon, Fight Club), and many other big names.

Basically the cast are working as one to steal 35 million dollars of gold from Venice, and all goes according to plan until one of the crew decides to double cross his so called 'mates' and tries to take the 35 million for himself, and as a result the leader gets shot (the basis for the whole story), and his team get shunted off a bridge and are shot at, but it wouldn?t be a film if they died, so the bad guys thought they killed them all but instead they managed to stay alive, and I wont say how!

Anyway, it appears the leader who dies has a daughter and she works for the police cracking safes (would you believe it) but this is where we see our first glimpse of a mini. Even though it wasn't one of the new minis, it still had a rather large impression on the scene, probably helped further, by being driven by Charlize Theron who looks gorgeous in this film by the way!

So the team decide to include her in their team and they decide to go get their money back and after scenes of planning and the plot thickening with a gang of Ukrainians getting themselves involved due to them wanting to get revenge on the enemy (Edward Norton) for killing there brother. All of these factors make up for what I was expecting to be a wicked ending.

And then all of a sudden, the word 'mini' is mentioned, and after a few minutes, on the screen are three brand new sparkling minis, all identical apart from the colour, buoy did they look nice. The original plan was to drive the minis in the house and crack the safe however there plan is disrupted and instead they have to modify or tune the cars up so as they can carry 120 pounds, and here is where we see what the mini can actually do. With a display of maneuvers carried out by all three minis, this scene wasn't disappointing in the least.

The ending sees an attempt to steal the gold and aft
er a long mini chase around Los Angeles, and iv'e forgotton his name but the person in 'Rat race', who in the film is a computer whizz kid changing all of the lights to green. Also minis racing in the underground passing pedestrians, which include some excellent in car stunts by the way, and eventually riding along the railway track they manage to steal the gold, and after a scene with Mark Whalberg in a mini being chased by a helicopter with Edward Norton in, it is some finish, and im gonna leave you sying that the film isn't left on a cliff hanger like the original Italian Job is.

Overall this film was special, the cars were unbelievably easy to watch and listen to, they created some breathtaking moments. The film is full of big names, which dont diassapoint, they all have their own individual roles which they pull off magnificently.

This film is gonna be big, and i am definitly gonna see it again when it comes out, and i'll probably end up buying the film on dvd eventually, be cause this will end up as a classic. Everything about the film is perfect, it has everything, action, romance, emotion, you couldnt ask for more. I definitly would recommend anyone to see this film!

Wow, aren't you the lucky one getting a sneak preview!! I can't wait to see this. A lot of people have been saying it just won't be the same with the new minis, but I reckon they'll like it once they've seen it, especially after this review. Well done :o)
