This review was originally written by myself, here: www.fritzlfan.wordpress.com Jean Vigo's character study of a recently married couple sits quite comfortably as one of the finest films of the 20th century. The bride is taken aboard the groom's boat, 'L'atalante', in order to live their lives in peace. The couple have contrasting personalities - Juliette is the more sympathetic character whilst Jean appears to be sensible with the occasional outburst of aggression.
