Advantages: good adaptation from book

Disadvantages: old so graphics not brilliant

This film is a classic that has survived decades and there is a good reason for that! It has a good plot and a showcase of catchy sing-along songs. Mowgli is a man cub, a baby lost in the jungle he was raised by wolves . When Shere khan returned to the jungle Bagheera (the panther) decided it was time for Mowgli to go home.

Baloo the bear features heavily in this film and is a brilliant comedic character, he and Mowgli build up a strong father son relationship that the audience can identify with.

Another film highlight is Mowgli's visit to 'King of the swingers' King Louie the orang-utan . This film really excels in it's extras the small parts such as the vultures at the end of the film add that bit extra and means that everyone can identify with at least one part of the film . The Vultures in particular are great as they remind me of The beatles and add a dry comedy to what can seem a frightening finale for small children.

Summary: good plot , great characters - you can't lose!
