The Jungle Book is one of my favourite animated films and certainly my favourite Disney offerring and while the animation may look a little dated by todays standards the quality of the dialogue and the great songs in it means that it stands out as an all time classic in my opinion. The book tells the story of a young orphan boy who is left in the jungle and is looked after by a black panther and a bear calle Baloo. As he grows older he begins to show a desire to find out about hsi past and also his life comes under threat from the Tiger Sher Khan who fears what a fully grown man may do to him. Tis is a wonderfuly amusing film the highlight of whch ... Read the complete review

Following swiftly on from my op on Disney's "The Lion King", we have another film which is thematically very similar. "The Jungle Book" is the first Disney film that I ever remember seeing, and as such it holds a very special place in my heart. However, it isn't my favourite Disney film, just the one that introduced me to uncle Walt's films. Based on Rudyard Kipling's famous "Mowgli" stories, "The Jungle Book" tells the story of a young, "man cub", Mowgli (Bruce Reitherman), who has been raised by a pack of wolves. So why isn't he with his real family, I hear you cry. Well, that ... Read the complete review

"I wanna be a man man cub and stroll right into town..." Do you remember the Kenny Ball Jazz Band who used to be featured on a number of light entertainment programmes back in the 1970s including the Morecambe And Wise Show? (Mrs dave27 has a morbid hatred of Morecambe and Wise and all their works, so I've only included this reference to irritate her) If you don't, they were a pretty dull trad jazz band, who featured a pretty manic looking woodwind player who had the meannest eyes you ever did see who did a pretty snazzy rendition of King Louie's theme song from the 1967 Walt Disney version of Rudyard Kipling's 'The Jungle ... Disney’s animated adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s story of Mowgli, young boy raised by wolves. Bagheera, the wise panther, thinks it will be much safer for the man-cub back in the man-village and begins to take him there. It is on the way that they come across Baloo, a fun and lovable take-it-easy philosophy on life. Baloo takes Mowgli under his wing, and starts to teach him how to get by in life doing the minimal of work. An eccentric orang-utan, called King Louis, joins the fun as he tries to steal Mowgli as he wants to learn the secret of fire. The other main characters are a hypnotic snake and Shere Khan, a fearsome tiger, who personifies ... Read the complete review

This video has been in my kids video so many times i am surprised it has not worn it out from over playing it.I wonder if my youngest will love this classic film aswell. This is about a young boy called Mowgli who is found in the woods and taken by a wolf to bring up in the safety of the pack. She brings mowgli up with her cubs. Until the day the leader of the pack tells her Shere Khan the tiger has vowed that he will kill the human child. so he must be sent to the man village with Bagheera(panther). Mowgli was use to going into the woods for walks with bagheera so he went no problem. But when it started to get dark he wanted to go back, so ... Read the complete review
