Part III tends to get labelled as the "cheesiest" and "most over the top" of the Karate Kid franchise, and that may be true, but at least it manages to be more entertaining than its predecessor, Part II. There's a lot more action and even a wicked turn for young Daniel-san. The story picks up immediately after the second film and nearly a year after the original. John Kreese (Martin Kove) is back and in an state of depression with his karate business unable to attract new students and rapidly crumbling as a result.
