When 'Disney films' are mentioned, a mental image of an animated feature length cartoon involving the trials and tribulations of either a beautiful lady or a cuddly animal spring to mind. 'The Kid' is not of this variety and has not an animated character or computer created beast in sight. (Although Bruce Willis' hair may have been added on to the footage - who knows!) Abandoning my rule that Disney films are for children or for Christmas viewing I rented this from the local video shop after seeing a rather promising trailer. Would my toe dipping into the Disney pool leave me regretful or would the Disney magic win the day? THE ... Read the complete review

The Kid - At 39 years old Russel Duritz has a life that most men would envy - he has a great job, is respected (and feared), has a beautiful house and makes buckets of money. But everything comes at a cost, in this case no social life, no conscience and a fear of spending the rest of his life alone. He just needs someone to show him the way. As I watched the movie, I kept wondering why Disney didn't pass this film on to Miramax - not because it's particularly daring or edgy, but because it is clearly a movie for adults. Disney's new-ish movie, The Kid, starring Bruce Willis and a kid. It is another Bruce-with-a-kid movie after "The Sixth Sense" but the difference is there are no dead people walking in the movie. Actually I did not expect much before seeing this movie. The main reason I watched this movie perhaps only because of Bruce, he is one of my interest actors. It turned out that I like this movie very much. No violence, no bloody scene, no car crashing, no gun shooting, no fighting etc. but what the movie has the interesting story. Bruce was really great in acting with a kid. It has proven in this movie after "The Sixth Sense" and "Mercury ... Read the complete review

Bruce Willis is his usual brilliant self in this great film for both children and all the people who have never grown up out there. His work is his life and never has time for his family , particularly his dad who seems to be trying to make up with him all the time. Even his personal life isn’t going anywhere and there is a women who he works with and who he has known for years and it seem so obvious they like each other but he can’t see that either, it’s work work work. Then one day some strange things begin to happen when a young boy comes out of nowhere into his life. He doesn’t believe this to start and starts to see a shrink ... Read the complete review

Bruce Willis and newcomer Spencer Breslin carry a slight but bright comedy about an obnoxious image consultant who learns about himself from an encounter with his 8-year-old self. ANYONE who still doubts that Bruce Willis is one of the best actors working in films today should check out how he punches up this fluffy fantasy about a midlife crisis. Willis has a field day as Russ Duritz, a hard-driving image consultant - a sarcastic, overbearing jerk who barks orders at his father, a psychiatrist and total strangers with equal glee. As his 40th birthday approaches, Russ suffers what appears to be a nervous breakdown - and experiences several ... Read the complete review
