Member Name: OliDavis88
Advantages: Great story, acting, writing, direction and editing. Beautifully shot. Disadvantages: Lack of DVD extras
This is one of the finest noirs ever produced - an authentic piece from the genre's golden age. The story begins with the the murder of a man - a man we know nothing of but his name and where he works. In his last words he admits that he did a terrible thing, once. The detective role is fufilled by an unlikely position - an insurance claim investigator. A green handkerchief owned by the deceased triggers a memory from the investigator, prompting him to find out more... Summary: Worth it all for the opening scene alone... |
