Kate Forster starts her new job living in a new home, a beautiful lake house made entirely of wood and glass. Despite the break up of a relationship everything seems to be going ok in Kate's life. The discovery of a letter in her mailbox prompts her to reply, but what she received in return was not what she expected. Alex Wyler is an upcoming architect, just at the start of a whole estate of brand new houses. His letter was the one in Kate's mailbox. Nothing so unusual you may think, except Alex too is living in the same lake house unbeknown to Kate. It's not that transparent of course, there is actually a time period of two years between the two of ... Read the complete review

Plot: Kate Forster (Sandra Bullock) is a no nonsense kind of woman. She owns a dream house on the lake made out of glass, but one day she decides it's time to move on. She writes a letter to the new tennant apologising for the quirks of the house, and wishes them well for the future. She dates the letter 2006. The letter confuses the new resident who believes it to be 2004, and who cannot find amy of the quirks that Kate has described. The ending of this film is a sad Kleenex moment. Opinion: The two characters don't have a huge amount of chemistry which makes the plot somewhat unbelieveable. The film also tries to suggest ... Read the complete review

A Power-House Film I am quite a fan of Sandra Bullock films, and I must admit to Speed and Miss Congeniality being 2 of my favourite films to sit back and enjoy! I also like Keanu Reeves too, so how the movie "The Lake House" passed me by, I'm not quite sure. I was bored last week and was flicking through the TV Guide and saw that it was going to be playing on BBC3 late on evening so I decided to record it on my new Sky Plus gadget to watch when I had a bit of time to myself. I finally got around to watching it, and I was completely taken aback by what a charming and beautiful film it was, and I hope to motivate people into watching this lesser known ... Kate Forster, a doctor, decides to move from her lonely lakeside home and writes a letter to its new tenant. The reply leaves her confused; the new tenant, Alex Wyler, appears to think that he is the first tenant in the house for some time and he claims that he is living in 2004, when Kate is living 2006. The pair work out that the post box outside the lake house is some kind of catalyst that is enabling them to make contact across time. Slowly, they fall in love through their letters, although they think that they will never be able to meet. Then Kate realises that they have actually met in the past and they try to arrange a time to meet again. Will it work? Or are they ... Read the complete review
