The Laramie Project is a documentary, done if film format with actors portraying numerous interviewees from Laramie in Wyoming, as in 1998 as gay student was allegedly taken from a bar and beaten in the back of a truck by 2 fellow students and left to die in a farm tied to a fence. A group of people went to Laramie to interview the people of the small town whom had never been witness to such brutality before, the result is this film, based on interviews with the majority of the community with famous names such as Laura Linney, Christina Ricci and Peter Fonda. Set in small town Laramie, Wyoming, this movie is based on over 400 hours of interviews, undertaken by eight members of the New York’s Tectonic Theatre Project. They spent over 2 years recording these interviews with the hope of producing a play composed from the original words of the towns people, with actors playing the roles of real people.
