Advantages: Interesting topic, good story
Disadvantages: Can get a bit confusing at times
The life before her eyes is a very intreiging film that gets you hooked with its twists and turns.
I first came across this film by accident whilst in the video store as i saw it advertised on the screens in there. However there was no sound but the trailer they showed looked very good so i had to rent it when it came out and i wasn't disappointed.
It centres on the life of Diana, who has survived a traumatic shooting at school when she was 17 in which her best friend was killed.
The film looks at her life as it is now 15 years after the shooting and also shows flasbacks to what she was like as a teenager and the events leading up that fateful day in school.
I found the way that the film in corporated her life now with the flasbacks very interesting, although sometimes it could get a little confusing but i think this added to the intensitiy of the film.
Evan Rachal Wood was very impressive as the young Diana with Uma Thurman playing the older version. I think the two complimented each other very well and both gave good performances.
The ending of the film can come as quite a shock and some people may find it confusing, but i found it to be a good ending which makes you think.
While it makes you think and can be a bit confusing, it's not a heavy film and is only on for about 90 mintues.
Overall i would say it is oneof the best DVDs i have seen for a while and if you get the chance to see it then i would highly reccommend it.
Summary: A film full of twists and life
