Advantages: Great for dinosaur lovers, lots of action

Disadvantages: Dealing with Jeff Goldblum's girlfriend in the movie

Returning character Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), after surviving the events of the original Jurassic Park, returns in the sequel to travel with a small group of people to Site B. Site B was a research facility where dinosaurs were let loose into the wild to create their own social groups. Ian goes there because his girlfriend went there several weeks before him to help photograph and categorize all the dinosaurs there for the Ingen corporation. The current CEO of the Ingen corp also sends a large task force to the island who basically strip mined the place, round up the dinosaurs to recreate Jurassic Park on land. This of course goes horribly awry and most of the people in the movie end up getting eaten. But after finally escaping the island, Ingen managed to take one creature back to the mainland: a subdued T-rex, which escapes from the cargo ship and begins rampaging throughout the city.

The original Jurassic Park movie was a really great story, aside from the fact that the dinosaurs were AMAZING. The same guys who were responsible for the queen Alien in the Alien movies did the special effects in this movie. The dinosaurs look like they could actually be moving around in the city. A great dinosaur movie, possibly the best Jurassic Park in the series after the original movie. I honestly would rather watch this movie than the original because it's almost like a complete update to the original movie.

The acting is quite solid, not wooden at all like I was expecting, and the action is a rollercoaster thrill ride. If you like dinosaurs, then chances are you'll probably enjoy this movie. There's not much to hate here, so I would recommend it to just about anyone who has a fascination with action movies with great actors or people who are a fan of those giant lizards of so long ago.

Summary: I like this movie.
