The Man with Two Brains was released in 1983 and was one of Steve Martin's first few movies having been a huge success in movies such as the Jerk. The plot is pretty silly really. Steve Martin plays renowned brain surgeon Hfuhruhurr, a strange name that prompts jokes throughout the movie. He saves the life of gorgeous Dolores played by Kathleen Turner. Soon after they get married, however this leads eventually to Steve Martin's character having a nervous breakdown. He doesn't love Dolores any more and needs a release from his situation. I must admit to being rather bewildered after having watched The Man With Two Brains for the first time recently, expecting from the film's title that the film would be about Steve Martin having two conflicting brains that cause him to act incredibly erratically, resulting in plenty of chuckles from one of the most famous and hilarious living comics today. Still, the ACTUAL result, where Martin simply comes across a brain in a jar (voiced by Sissy Spacek) isn't anywhere near as funny as my idea, although it is still able to dredge a few good laughs out.
