You'll have to forgive me reviewing this film on another format, because I've already done a DVD one, but if there's any film that warrants another look on a new format, it's the supremely popular 1999 action film The Matrix, which is now also available in an excellent HD Matrix box set. With its intense action and superb special effects, few films will better benefit from the enhanced picture quality that the Blu Ray medium allows. When the Matrix Trilogy was released towards the end of November 2008, I waited patiently for a single release of The Matrix due to finding the sequels disappointing. It finally came around 4 to 5 months later at the end of March and it was very successful. The picture quality is the same as that of the trilogy; stunning. This is one of my best looking blu-rays and is a nice upgrade from the standard DVD. I personally didn't notice the skewing of colours very much and thought it worked well.
