Advantages: Disney at its best

Disadvantages: All abit 'american' (i mean the bad kids all gone good) type motto

This film is my favourtie film. I completed a film studies degree and did my dissertation on this very film. I am not going to write a review on the storyline. The underlying themes of this film is of the american dream. So if you want to sit back and watched a heart warming film of bad kids gone bad through team work and hard work then this film is for you. It illustrates that dedication and common goals can forfill a gap in young kids lives to bring together community and common values of success. With the backdrop of ice hockey, this film illustrates that every character has been touched by the 'american dream' bug and reformed their lives around the competeing team of a bunch of kids to win a district ice hockey league. Although to really venture into the heart of the film it should be viewed with a 'early 1990's head on' when sport was introduced to get kids involved within the community and to get into the spirit of the USA olympics.
