I don't understand why this movie got such bad ratings. I was a fan of the orginal Mummy movie, and to some degree the sequel. However, I had heard that this was an absolute stinker. So, basic plot is that Brendan Fraser's son has now grown up and has become a chip off the old block. He ropes his dad inadvertantly into the fray and the O'Connells are off on another adventure. THE GOOD - Much to my surprise this movies was really good fun. The action is just right and it maces along nicely. - John Hannah, as usual, is great as Fraser's brother in law. Being someone who liked the first two mummy films I came into this film looking for a top fantasy action experience that I got from the first two films and I have to say I wasnt disappointed. The mummy tomb of the dragon emperor sees the return of Brendan fraser as well as john hannah from the first two films. The wife has been replaced in this film though and is being played by maria bello who does put in a ok performance but you get the sense from the start of the film that she is trying to hard but saying that she does get better as the film goes on. I'm going to admit from the off that I despised the first two Mummy films. I can't put my finger on why; possibly the setting, storyline or poor acting? Whatever the reason, the films bored me to tears and were a sure way to send me to sleep. With this being said, it won't come as a surprise to you when I state I wasn't looking forward to the third and final instalment in The Mummy series. So did I fall asleep during yet another Mummy movie or did the franchise resurrect itself and go out with a bang?
