There are few stories that are safe from getting the Muppet treatment and they certainly weren’t going to let Christmas pass by without their own unique version of a classic tale. The Muppets Christmas Carol takes the basic tale of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” the story of grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge, a man tight with his money, mean spirited and loathsome of the poor. His employee, Bob Cratchett, in this case played by Kermit the frog, is very poor and works to support his family which includes the sick Tiny Tim, Scrooge works him hard for little pay and is furious when Bob asks to be given time off on Christmas day. One evening when Scrooge returns to his ... Read the complete review

OH MY GOD. I cannot believe that I have stumbled across this little gem. Believe me it is a gem. I LOVE this film. I used to watch this film every Christmas Eve. I am realy not lying. I know some people lie on reviews, but I really are'nt. I would prefer to watch this film all through the Christmas period instead of going out to the pub. Now that may really sound sad but it is just a master piece. This is one of the original great family films that manages to be an exceptional film without including any violence, drugs or sex. It is pure genius. Well I think that you have got the idea that I like this film. I will now talk about the film. I really dont feel ... Read the complete review

This is a re-telling of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, complete with several well-known characters from the Muppet Show and Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge is his usual miserable self, determined not to let his staff have time off for Christmas because it will mean he loses money. Then on the night before Christmas, he is visited by a series of ghosts - the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. As a result, he is forced to look at the mistakes of his past and how they will affect his future. Will he become a better person for it? And will he manage to make his employees' lives less miserable? ... Read the complete review

Now I'm sure that everyone is well aware of Charles Dickens' classic story A Christmas Carol and hedge my bets to suggest that everyone has seen at least one TV or film adaptation of this wonderful novel. I myself have seen a quantity of versions yet I can easily say with a great deal of conviction that the Muppet Christmas Carol is my favourite and in my opinion the best version to date. Like I said earlier I'm sure you all know the classic story and so I won't spend long explaining it: Scrooge is a mean old miser who despite being rather a rich man refuses to give anything to charity and treats his workers like dirt. Christmas therefore is not a time he ... Read the complete review
