THE NANNY is an American Sitcom that ran for 6 seasons, between 1993 and 1999. It was conceived by actress Fran Drescher who got inspiration for the title character while in England visiting her friend Twiggy (yes, that Twiggy). The series was produced by Drescher and her then-husband Peter Marc Jacobson. The series is about Fran, a working class Jewish woman who becomes the nanny of 3 wealthy children, whose father is an English theatrical producer called Maxwell Sheffield.
