Advantages: Brilliant acting from Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling Disadvantages: Not one
based on Nick Sparkes best selling novel this is a truely moving story. It evolves around a man reading back a story to a lady at the elderly home where they both reside. the story is about two teenagers from different walks of life Noah (ryan Gosling) is from a poor working class background whilst Ali (Rachel McAdams) is from a rich background. this is set before world war one. The two teenagers fall in love over the summer but are torn apart by Ali's parents who believe that Noah is no good for her and that he will only hold her back. Years pass and Ali gets engaged to 'someone more suitable' meanwhile having lost his best friend whilst fighting in the war Noah dedicates his life to building a dream home that Ali described durimg their summer together. This makes the papers and Ali against her better judgement goes and sees Noah..... Summary: Truely moving story. |
