The OC - The Complete Season 1 (DVD) ... ... / DVD released 18 October, 2004 at Warner Home Video / Features of the DVD: Box set, PAL / Surf, sand, sex and scandal...The rich and glamorous city of Newport Beach, California is the setting for The O.C., one of today's most hip and edgy television series making its way to DVD in a collectible seven-disc set featuring all 27 episodes from Season One. If you missed the first season, here is the chance to introduce yourselves to the hottest new show of the 2003-04 television season. The O.C. is a story of father/son and husband/wife relationships and the coming of age of three young people. When Ryan Atwood (Benjamin McKenzie), a tough, guarded fiercely intelligent teenager, plunges headlong into the wealthy, privileged community of Newport Beach, he soon discovers that the ruling families of Orange County are every bit as territorial as the tough crowd with which he ran on the streets of Chino. For Sandy Cohen (Peter Gallagher), the patient, pro-bono public defender who takes Ryan in; his wife, Kirsten (Kelly Rowan), the linchpin of O.C. society; their awkward adolescent son, Seth (Adam Brody) - Ryan's presence will forever change their lives. Meanwhile, Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton), the heartbreakingly beautiful girl next door who is dating her classmate Luke Ward (Chris Carmack), seems to glide through life effortlessly--that is, until the indiscretions of her wealthy father, Jimmy (Tate Donovan) threaten to break her world apart, along with that of her mother, Julie (Melinda Clarke). Premium Review The OC - The Complete Season 1 (DVD): Watch the lives of those in Orange County (1459 words)
by - written on 11/08/09 (Very useful, 77 readings)
Rating:

The O.C was created by Josh Schwartz in 2003 and it attracted 9.7 million viewers in the first series alone. It ran for 4 series before being cancelled in 2007. This show is similar to: Beverly Hills 90210, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, all the teen favourites. Newport Beach is a rich community on the coast of California known as Orange County. In 2003 The O.C aired, a fictional show about those who live, work and go to school in Newport. The concept behind this show is to see the highs and lows of life in Newport and in general life. This series covers love, loss, addiction, and general teenage issues as well as issues for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Who could not love The O.C ? (535 words)
by - written on 03/03/09 (Very useful, 32 readings)
Rating:

The OC is like a cross between 90210 and One tree Hill in my opinion, only better than either. We have Ryan ( the sexy bad boy ) who is rescued from a possible life of trouble ( although his early years in Orange County don't really lead him onto the straight and narrow !! ) by Sandy Cohen, a district attourney who genuinely wants to work with 'troubled' kids and help them. He is Ryan's attourney and offers help when he realises that Ryan is a bright boy and is capable of so much more in life than car crime. Ryan ends up biting the bullet and accepting the help when he's thrown out of his mother's home by his Mother's boyfriend and Sandy takes him back to his 'mansion' ...  Read the complete review

The OC is a teen drama much like One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl that is televised in the UK on Channel 4. This review will be of Series 1 out of the 4 series that were produced. The programme OC is set in Orange County and follows the trials and tribulations of a group of teenagers who have to deal with the highs and lows that comes with teenage life. Ryan (played by Ben Mckenzie) plays the bad boy who comes from the poor area of Chino and is adopted and took in by Sandy Cohen and his family. Sandy Cohen is an attorney who takes in Ryan when his parents throw him out. There family consists of Seth (Sandy's Son) who becomes close friends with Ryan and Kirsten ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review I can be whoever you want me to be - Ryan (290 words)

Rating:

I paid £40 for this, as soon as it came out, I went straight to ASDA (as it was the cloest store) and brought it home. Well, to my accomodation, and watched it, as a marathon. Many have lost faith in this show, as the series progressed, and most of the dear fans weren't fans by the end of Season 4, where the show terminated. I was one of the few, who still remained in full love with this show. It is definitely, and completely nothing more than a teenager flick - and they made it so interesting and fun. With the introduction of an outcast, a little thug, misled younger brother, that is Ben McKenzie, as Ryan, and the combination of a non-stop talking, ...  Read the complete review

This review is for The O.C complete first season box set. The O.C started back in 2003 and was created by Josh Schwartz. It is currently in its 3rd Season now showing on E4. It wasn't a programme that I ever got into however I have recently just 'discovered' it. My sister has been an avid fan for a while and after finishing my uni work I thought I would give it a whirl. The Box Set consists of 7 DVD containing all 27 episodes and a number of special features (which I will mention later). I've just looked up the price on HMV and you can get it brand new for £29.99, and on Amazon £20.00 for a used condition one. THE CHARACTERS: - The ...  Read the complete review
