This is the season that saw the American version overtake the British one in terms of number of episodes, so it was always going to be a big one. To say I was dubious about the US version of The Office is an understatement. I am a huge fan of Ricky Gervais' original, and was sceptical about how the show would translate to a US format. By the time I was a few seasons in, I was no longer dubious: the US version is better, by far, than the original (there, I said it). Of course, they're two totally different entities. The UK original was funny in a subtle and ironic way. The US version is just outright comedy. It's a laugh a minute, with carefully ... Read the complete review

Season three shakes things up a bit for the staff of Dunder Mifflin. The long talked about downsizing is finally happening and Scranton branch has been given the axe. I shan't say much more because frankly, who wants too many spoilers, but suffice as to say the introduction of some new cast members into the mix is very well appreciated. Eventually these newcomers are whittled down to a smaller number for various reasons but those who do stay around (Andy and Karen) add some real life into the office in the form of a 'Yes man' with anger issues, and a new love interest for Jim. The story writing this season seems to really move forwards again, with the writers ... Read the complete review

Anybody whose been put off watching The American Office because they think it won't be as good as the British version is mistaken. The third series of The American Office is the best of the lot. Steve Carell is perfect at playing the obnoxious boss Michael Scott who is manager of Dunder Mifflin, a paper sales branch. The fellow cast is terrific. Rainn Wilson is priceless as Dwight Schroote constantly annoying his colleagues while sucking up to Michael. John Krasinski's character Jim is the loveable guy in the office who returns midway through the series to Scranton and is involved in a love triangle between Karen and Pam. Michael Scott also has an on off ... Read the complete review

After a rather brillant second season, I was convinced they could not make another season as good. Instead, they made an even better series - the series is centered around the main charachter by megastar Steve Carell, the chrachter of the annoying boss Michael Scott. His confidence and eccentric personality make the show totally. A whole host of funny and humurous chrachters are also there Dwight, Ryan, Pam, Kevin, Meridith, Jim. Atcually i've never seen a bad charachter on this show, Jan is rather wierd an brillant but so is her assistant?? every single charachter on this show is believable, quirky and their protrayal is such you are convinced they're ... 'I come from a long line of fighters, my maternal grandfather was the toughest guy I ever knew. World War II veteran. He killed twenty men and then spent the rest of the war in an Allied prison camp... My father battled blood pressure and obesity all his life... different kind of fight.' Dwight Schrute The American version of The Office goes from strength to strength in this, its third season. It just goes to show, if you leave a show to flourish on its own, then it will grow and get better. The first series was a carbon copy of the English version- with the first episode being a word for word copy. However, as the series has progressed its ... Read the complete review
