When US ambassador Robert Thorn’s wife goes into labour, the couple’s delight turns to tragedy when the baby subsequently dies. Whilst struggling to cope with his grief, Thorn is approached by the hospital priest, who advises him that there has been another tragedy in the hospital. A young baby has been orphaned, his mother having died in child birth with nobody left to look after him. The priest persuades Thorn that God will forgive a small deception and that Thorn should adopt the baby as his own, telling his wife nothing of their real child’s death. Unable to tell his wife about their loss, he agrees to the priest’s proposal and the couple raise the child as their ... Read the complete review

How can one take a classic horror movie, replicate its original story almost verbatim, and still make it fail? That's not a rhetorical question, because I really want to know. The Omen became a cult classic of the horror genre very quickly after being released in 1976, and the story of the anti-Christ coming to earth and being brought up in an influential family to pave his ascension to becoming the king of humanity as told in the Book of Revelations, while killing off anybody who opposed him through means of orchestrating various freak accidents to befall them, proved to be particularly popular among other hell-influenced entries of the time. This popularity spawned two Read the complete review

American Ambassador to London, Robert Thorn, seems to have it all; an excellent job, a beautiful wife and a lovely son. His son, however, is not really his - his own son died at birth, and the hospital and was replaced by an orphan, although wife Katherine doesn't know this. Katherine, however, isn't so sure that everthing is rosy; she has seen a number of things in son Damien that scare her. Then strange things begin to happen, such as the sudden suicide of Damien's nanny in front of all the children at Damien's birthday party, and a near fatal accident for Katherine. Another nanny is hired and life goes on, but Robert is eventually convinced that something is seriously Read the complete review

Introduction --------------- Born on the 6th day of the 6th month at the 6th hour, the Son of Satan enters the world. Adopted by a US Ambassador, young Damian Thorne slowly begins to realise his powers, giving an all new meaning to the phrase “terrible toddler” Remake or Rehash? ------------------------ A remake of the 1976 horror classic The Omen, this film falls into the same category as Gus Van Sant’s remake of Hitchcock’s Psycho. The original film was so good that any attempt at a remake has to do something completely different with the source material to make it a worthwhile venture. Sadly, director John Moore (Flight of the Phoenix, ... Read the complete review

I look forward to watching movies that are supposed to be scary because they very seldom do tend to actually be mildly creepy let alone scary. As silly as it may seem I did actually have quite high hopes for this film because a work colleague had told me how it scared him silly so I thought excellent I will give it a go. Anyway me and my scary film pal my sister decided to sit down and watch it and I have to say the Omen 666 is an absolutely appalling film which tries to be scary and fails, and then it tries to be entertaining and fails. It is basically a failure of a film. ----- The Film: The film begins by introducing us to Robert ... Read the complete review
