---------------- INTRODUCTION ---------------- Released in 2001, THE ONE is a short (84 minutes) action movie starring Jet Li. ---------------- THE PLOT ---------------- Rather than a single universe, there is a multiverse, which is many parallel universes existing side by side. Gabe Law (played by Jet Li) is a criminal who has discovered that by moving from one universe to another and killing his parallel selves, he gains more power and in effect becomes superhuman. Jet Li is a massive star in his native homeland in the Far East. He is also one of the fastest rising stars in North America and ultimately the rest of the Hollywood loving world. he has been likened to the 'new' Mel Gibson because of his onscreen charisma and has been steadily amassing a fan base thanks to martial arts extravaganzas like Kiss of the Dragon and the excellent Romeo Must Die. Neither were huge box office sucesses but were notable for the all out action and awesome martial arts skills of their leading man. Jet Li could be the next biggest action hero to come out of the US... ...but not with movies like this one. This is a massive stumble in ... Read the complete review

The One stars Jet Li in a sci fi action thriller. The basic plot is that the universe does not exist solely by itself, instead there are hundreds of them all joined up to make a multiverse. Every universe has a exact replica of the same individual, although the physical appearance may differ but the soul remains in one with each other. People can transport between different universes through time warps. The movie starts with a Jet Li from one of the universes being transported from his cell to somewhere else by armed guards. However this is twarted when Julaw, a replica Jet Li from another universe attacks them in order to kill this prisoner Jet Li. Julaw seeks ... Read the complete review

The Facts: Certificate - 15, Running Time - 84 Minutes, Genre - Martial Arts / Sci-Fi The Plot: Who would Jet Li's greatest enemy be? In this film he comes up against potentially his most worthy adversary to date - a nastier, stronger, faster version of himself from an alternative dimension! This is an originally-devised film with a slightly complex storyline. Basically a technology has been created to enable people from other realities within the 'multiverse' to travel to alternate realities. This, however, is regulated by a specially set-up law enforcement team. In our reality Jet Li is a kind-hearted cop but in another one of these realities he ... Read the complete review
