I am a huge Vin Diesel fan and when i see films coming out in the cinema with him in them i always try to go and see them. Ive always loved Vin Diesel but to see him in a kids type comedy i think is a bit of a kick in the teeth for him! Although i wasnt expecting much from this film, i decided to rent out the dvd from my Tesco dvd rental service and give it a watch anyway. I'm guessing that when you think of Vin Diesel films, your mind goes to XXX-style action, rather than saccharine family 'comedies'. However, the latter is exactly what you get with the Pacifier. Diesel plays a Navy SEAL who is assigned the job of guarding some unruly children after their scientist father is killed and their mother jets off to Switzerland to find the secret software he was working on. Of course Diesel's character doesn't know what to do with the kids and they certainly don't take to his rather strict style of parenting. Why do Hollywood ormaybe it is the actors themselves have this obsession with trying to turn the stars of macho action films into something they are not, namely actors capable of doing comedy, they tried it with Arnie and the results were indifferent with Kindergarden Cop average at best and here we have Vin Diesel trying to do a kids comedy film and failing miserably. Worst film ever!! i admit to being bit bias, becuase I generally don't like crap films, so I was never going to like this. If I was in a DVD rental store I would never choose to watch a Disney family comedy with Vin Diesel as the star, not when there are so many classics I have yet to watch. This film appeared to be stalking me when it came out, because I was travelling at the time and it was shown in every bar, plane and even boat that I was in.
