Advantages: Great film, fantastic acting (especially by Lohan), lots of time for the film to pan out.

Disadvantages: None

The Parent Trap is a 1998 release directed by Nancy Meyers and starring Lindsay Lohan, Dennis Quaid & Natasha Richardson which is based on a novel called Lottie & Lisa and is a remake of the 1961 film of the same name.

Lindsay Lohan plays Hallie Parker & Annie James who are twins who were seperated shortly after birth by their parents Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid) & Lizzie James (Natasha Richardson) when they divorced and this resulted in Hallie living with Nick in Napa Valley, California & Annie living with Lizzie in London, England and neither of them are aware that the other one exists until by coincidence they are sent to the same Summer camp in Maine, Moosehead Lake, where they meet one another and see similarities and then come to realise that they have the same allergies, likes, dislikes etc and that they both own half of a photograph, one half showing their mother, the other their father & then they begin to hatch a plan so that they can each meet the parent that they have never met before so Annie goes to live with Nick & Hallie goes to live with Lizzie for a short time before they make a plan to get their parents back together with some very funny consequences.

Lindsay Lohan acts incredibly well in this film and I can remember initially watching it as an 11 year old child myself and never realising that it wasn't real twins and it was only when I got older and watched it again that I paid attention to the credits and realised just how much acting Lindsay had done in this film. Natasha & Dennis work very well together and bring some comedic moments to the film for older people to have a chuckle at.

I thoroughly enjoy this film and I have now seen it several times in my lifetime and no doubt I will watch it again the next time it is on TV or I can borrow it from someone. The running time of this DVD is 129 minutes and it's just £3.98 from amazon.co.uk. I cannot confirm if there are any extras on this DVD as I never pay attention to them or bother watching them.

I am rating this film 5/5 as it's a great film for the whole family to sit down and watch and I just loved the entire film. It's funny, well acted and has a fantastic ending!

Summary: A fantastic film starring Lindsay Lohan in her younger years.

It's also based on a book called 'Lottie and Lisa' by Erich Kastner ;-)

Think this is the only good film Lindsay Lohan has done. I used to love it. Brill review. Kirsty x
