Wes Craven directs this about a boy, Fool who discovers that a brother and sister are kidnapping children and keeping them under the stairs.

Fool is a 14 year old who lives in a run down part of the city. They are about to be evicted from their home and his mother has cancer. So Leeroy, a friend robs a liquor store to get some money from them. While he is there he finds the address of the store owners finds out that they also own half the ghetto and charge high rates so everyone is evicted so they can build offices. They also discover they have a gold coin collection.

Leeroy decided to go with Fool and his friend Spencer to rob the house. Fool can't get in but the lady who lives in the house, known only as Mummy lets Spencer in. But he doesn't get out. Leeroy suspects that Spencer is stealing the coins for himself so when the lady leaves him and fool go inside. The find Spencer dead. Leeroy is then shot and Fool escapes into the walls where he meets Roach, who lives in the walls, he also meets the little girl who lives there, Alice. She tells him that her parents wanted a perfect boy child but couldn't find one, so they cut out the bad parts and put them in the cellar, roach escapes and now torments Daddy.

Fool escapes after dying Roach shows him the way. He also discovers that the couple are cannibal's and are brother and sister so they kidnapped all the children. He tries to tell the police but they don't listen so he decides to go back there himself to free the children.

This is a little heard of film with quite a bad reputation. However I thought this film was quite good and would recommend it. Wes Craven has succedded in making another good horror with a touch of comedy. You can tell this is not a really serious film by just watching it but if you look at it in a light way you'll see it is good. It delievers some scares without excessive amounts of gore. I would recommend it.
