This film looked as if it was released in 1999. I was not surprised when I learnt that it was a remake of a classic pink panther film. Inspector Jacques Clouseau, the clumsy French detective was assigned by his superior to take over the case of a dead coach (Gluant) who was killed on a soccer field while celebrating a goal. Also, the Inspector was to find Gluant's Pick Panther ring which got lost when he was killed. A priceless diamond ring has gone missing after its owner, a famous football coach, has been murdered. Chief Inspector Dreyfus needs someone competent and thorough to investigate the case, and assigns a team of respected officers to it, hoping to win a commendation for his services to his country from it. However, he needs someone else to deflect the attention of the press from the investigation so that his team can get on with their work.
