 ... film is tapping into the Pirates of the Caribbean craziness, and for me that's never been that interesting, so I guess if you like pirates this film will appeal to you more than if not. What really surprised me about this film was the way that the Christian message was implicit rather than explicit - there is no mention of the Bible or God, but rather the storyline has a metaphorical message to it. Premium Review The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything - A Veggie Tales Movie (DVD): The film that doesn't do anything (279 words)

The Veggietales has long been entertaining Christian kids whilst reminding them of the Biblical messages so important to the faith. This new feature length movie is set in pirate times. Premium Review Pirate vegetables have an adventure! (320 words)

After our success with the vegetales Jonah and the whale film, we decided to give this one a go too. It follows three pirates who aren't really pirates but more of a group of lazy men who don' do anything (sounds familiar). One day they stumble upon a ball which takes them to another land. They come across a girl or should we say vegetable who has had her brother kidnapped by her evil uncle. The Pirates now have the chance to be real pirates and take up the mission but will their mission be accomplished? The film ties in with all of the other vegetales in that every character is some form of friendly vegetable. They all have names and different accents and are ...  Read the complete review

~~~~~~~~~~~ INTRODUCTION ~~~~~~~~~~~ I am about to write a review about a bunch of anthropomorphic vegetables who are whisked back in time to go on a pirate adventure. I can assure you that no, I have not forgotten to take my medication, and yes, I am in full command of my faculties. I do, however, have a four year old daughter, which hopefully, explains a lot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHAT ON EARTH ARE VEGGIETALES? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ VeggieTales are the creations of Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki of American company Big Idea, which was founded in 1993. Essentially, Big Idea use characters like Bob the Tomato and ...  Read the complete review
