Advantages: unique idea of story, quite exciting

Disadvantages: average quality actors, boring storyline

I always like thriller and adventure but this one was out of my list since the first 30 minutes. The story was about four young American tourist came to Mexico for a vacation. In the beach they met Mathias a German tourist who was searching for his brother who was missing in the secret area which was not in the map. Challenged by the secret temple, they came along with Mathias not knowing that there would find something very horrible in the ruins.
I know that this movie was made based a novel. But I haven't read the novel and I don't think I don't need to read it to know that this movie wasn't as good as the novel.
I admit that some scenes was really horrible and disturbingly exciting for me but overall, I don't really like the whole performance of the actors. Maybe with better budget, the movie maker could hire better visual engineer to make better special effects to this movie. Or maybe use better actors to make the movie better.
The storyline was boring and to be hones it was quite predictable, even the ending which supposed to be the unpredictable ending was predicted by me even before the movie ended.
But if you really want to watch some different thriller, I think you might like this one. No bad guy-good guy, ghost or monster. You might get excited to know what it was.

Summary: An adventure thriller movie with unique idea
