Advantages: emotional roller coaster, heart warming, fantastic!

Disadvantages: few tears shed!

Just bought this from amazon on DVD for under £7, and it is definitley worth the money!

~The story~
The film is about 14 year ols Lilly (dakota Fanning) who at four years old, accidently shoots her mother, as her mother tries to leave her father and Lilly picks up the fathers gun. (It is set in 1964) The next 10 years of Lilys life are spent unloved and rejected by her father. She then decides to run away with Rosaleen her black house keeper. The story tells of the terribly racist area and the treatment they recieve at the time. Rosaleen and Lilly ask to stay with three black sisters who make honey. THe story tells of the ups and downs of the time whil Lilly discovers about her mothers past and falls in love whilst with the sisters.

~My opinion of the film~
I found it a little hard to adjust to listening to the movie with the strong accents but soon was so engrosed in the movie! i loved the story and thought it was a unique plot. There are some stomach turning points in realtion to racism, such as rosaleen been badley beaten by a group of white men.
As the story unfolds you really relate to Lilly feelings so unloved and feel so sorry for her childhood. There are many parts towards the end as she discovers about her mother when there were tears in my eyes. There are quite a lot of sad moments in the movie although overall it aims to be a heart warming story. I relly enjoyed this movie and will probably be watching it again soon! Easily deservce every one of its 5 stars!

Summary: fab film and a must see!!
