1965, a flight of American fighters comes across a UFO while patrolling the Bermuda Triangle. Their instruments go crazy and three of the planes lose sight of their squadron leader, only for his plane to reappear seconds later and crash, in flames, into the sea. 30 years later the wreckage of the plane has been found and is being winched out of the sea and then taken to a US Air Force Base to be examined by a secret military organisation. The wreckage is under the control of a Colonel Rosewater (R. L. Ermey), who is a typical uptight, by the book military officer.
