Advantages: Decent price, interesting to see early characters

Disadvantages: Not great animation, some strange voices

The first season of Simpsons is around 20 years old now and proves just how popular this cartoon is. Unlike movie series and TV Shows, cartoons seem to get better with time, rather than worse and this is definitely highlighted with The Simpsons. Some of the voices sound very strange and the animations are not great compared to the later seasons.

As it's the first season, you are introduced to the now famous family consisting of the parents Marge and Homer and their three children; Bart, Lisa and Maggie. There is also an array of minor character which are focused more in the later seasons. Homer is immediately shown as slow yet loveable, Marge is your typical house-wife and mother; constantly worrying, kind and good-hearted. The children are very different from each other. Bart is a rebellious older brother to the brains of the family; Lisa and Maggie is too young to even be given a real character of her own!

There are only thirteen episodes in this season. Amazon's price is quite expensive compared to others such as Zavvi, SendIt and TheHut who have it for around £12.

It's definitely not my favourite season but it's nice to see where it all began on TV and how the characters were developed later on.

Summary: If you're a fan of the cartoon, it's worth a pick-up
