Yesterday, I woke up, and got on the bus to go to my local city centre. With my money in my pocket, I looked around to find the best and cheapest place to buy "The Simpsons Complete first series" on DVD.

Details on this are at the end, but first, and breif explanation of what is included in the Box Set.

Even though the price is quite high here in the UK, you have to admit that the list of features above is pretty long.

** PRICE **
Ok, back to the shopping, I had seen The Simpsons Complete Season 1 DVD available for the following prices at the following stores:

WHSmiths £29.99
Woolworths
£35.99
Game £39.99
HMV £39.99

And, as you can imagine, one week later, all but HMV had sold out. I was told however that WHSmiths would have some more in stock on Moday. So, I could either wait and risk going out of stock again, or buy from HMV, one of the most expensive places. I decided to buy(I really wanted to see it)

** My thought **
I think that even though this box set is very expensive, compared to the US, it is still worth the money, expecially since buying the whole first season on Video format would surely cost a lot more. Plus, the video format would not have as many special features, and you have the hassle of having to rewind them after use, which is not needed with DVD's.

This is a TOP DVD, Buy, Buy, Buy

I got this item for my birthday and couldn't wait to write an op about it myself - I hope you'll give it a read.

I agree that the Simpsons season 1 is an essential purchase for fans of the show (lets face it that's most people). And this set offers good value compared to collecting on VHS. However the extras list may have quantity but i felt the quality could be better. Most of the stuff provided, like featurettes and Tracey Ullman shorts I had seen before and more could have been done.
A well animated menu screen would have been nice, especially as it is a boxset of cartoons!
