By season six, The Simpsons really cannot be criticised on animation anymore. It looks great and far better than the first and second seasons which were a struggle to watch again in terms of PQ. The show was unstoppable now and these middle seasons deliver most of my favourite episodes. They are the "golden age" where the jokes are always fresh and the characters are never dull. A very memorable episode which season six is known for, was the finale (twenty fifth episode) "Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part 1". I remember being genuinely excited to see the second part of this episode (premiere to season seven) when I was younger. It's ... Read the complete review

The sixth series of the Simpsons aired in 1994 to 1995 in the States. We always run behind America when showing The Simpsons so it was probably a few years later that this aired in Britain. I don't remember seeing it at the time but I think I was only just becoming aware of the programme then and probably didn't have power over the remote control when I was young. The boxset was released in August 2005 in America and then here a few months later. There are twenty-five episodes in all. There are two versions of this as with all the season boxsets. You can get the standard one which looks like a regular boxset or you can get the special edition packaging. This ... Read the complete review

This is the box set of the sixth series of the world famous cartoon, The Simpsons. It has been on the TV since it started in the early 1990s, and there seems to be no sign of it stopping. Unfortunately, I've found that the last few series have very inconsistant, with only a handful of good episodes each series. However, I was always a huge fan of the programme when I was younger, so I was delighted when I managed to find this series for only £8 on ebay, as it was one of the best series in my opinion. So, for those of you who haven't heard of The Simpsons (though I can't imagine how), the cartoon centres around an american family and their mad and at times ... Read the complete review

The Simpson's Season 6 continues the Series great run of excellent episodes and first class humour, in fact its not much longer after this that the Series started to decline a little bit in my opinion, but as I mentioned this season showcases some of the finest episodes, writing and humour and the animation is noticeably improving by every episode as well. The season ran between September 1994 and May 1995, an interesting note about one of the episodes is that the Simpson's creator Matt Groening actually asked for his name to be removed from the Episode " A Star is Burns" credits as he felt like it was a blatant promotion of the new short ... The Simpsons juggernaut keeps rolling on, by season 6 they were really into their stride. The fifth season was a huge success so this series continued on from that very popular period to bring us more classic episodes. Wonderful animation with vivid, bright colours, plenty of movie references, inside jokes and just out right slapstick moments and some fantastic guest appearances. Some of those fantastic guest appearances include Meryl Streep in 'Bart's Girlfriend', as the reverends daughter who turns Bart's head, Winona Rider in 'Lisa's Rival' playing well, you can guess, and Kelsey Grammar in 'Sideshow Bob Roberts', another razor sharp episode about the ...
