The Simpsons, synonymous as the best cartoon and funniest ever made, back in the day it didn't have competition like Family Guy and South Park. Anyway it was a pretty big claim to say "Greatest Hits" on the DVD as truly you'd need a 4 disc boxset to have a true reflection of a Greatest Hits of the Simpsons. But lets not get bogged down on that and just see what we get. Well it's just 5 episodes we're treated to and they're all fairly old ones. In fact the first episode is Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire - The very first episode ever, this is a Christmas episode where Homer doesn't get his Xmas bonus from the Power Plant, but is too ... Just who isn't a fan of The Simpsons, eh? Not me, that's for sure! Not just content with just watching the many episodes shown on TV these days, I also have a few of the 'themed' videos available, or were available a few years back. One of these videos is 'The Simpsons Greatest Hits'. There are five episodes in total, not that many for a video you might think, but a lot of the ones like this only had about four as well. The theme that puts these particular episodes together on one video tape is simply because they are considered 'landmark' episodes, e.g. 100th episode, 200th episode, first ever episode, etc. The front of the video shows The Simpsons heads ... To say that these are the greatest Simpsons episodes ever is actually either a bit tongue in cheek or a little misleading, in fact they all make this collection of four episodes plus on my edition a bonus episode as well because of the significance of when they were aired on TV, hence on this compilation you have the first, 100th, 200th and the episode with the highest US rating. The bonus episode is the one were Maggie speaks for the first time. Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire is the first ever episode, it is interesting to see how raw the animation was for this epiosde which sees Homer try to hide the fact that he did not get a xmas bonus this year and ... To try and put the greatest hits of The Simpsons onto one disc is foolhardy. There are so many classic, touching, hilarious episodes people love that if they did do a greatest hits package it would be so long that it wouldn't be able to fit on anyone's shelves, that is the quality of this show. So this DVD, part of "The Simpsons Classics", contains 4 episodes, each accredited with some sort of landmark. We have "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", which was the very first episode and deals with Homer not getting his Christmas bonus, but in the end gets something much better. There's the 100th episode "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baddasssss ... Read the complete review

This is a video containing five great episodes from the hit cartoon series, The Simpsons! Five episodes based around key moments in the Simpsons. The five episodes are Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire, Sweet Seymour Skinners Badass Song, Trash Of The Titans, Bart Gets An F and Lisa's First Word. Here is a review of each of episodes and my opinion on each and on this video as a whole.
