 ... it shows he is wonderfully comfortable as the hapless Norman Pitkin. The film: ======= One of his funniest films although it does employ a tactic he was to use in three other of his movies. We find Norman as his alter ego Pitkin, along side "Mr Grimsdale", (Edward Chapman). They are workmen sent to repair the road outside a military base but end up causing masses of chaos around the entrance to the camp. The Square Peg. ============ Norman: ======= Norman Wisdom was born in 1915. He had a difficult upbringing and spent some time in a childrens home. He served in the Merchant navy and took part in WW2 before becoming an actor in 1946 at the age of 31. He has never looked back. He has made 19 movies in total and appeared, at the last count, 16 times on TV. His career has spanned from his early beginnings in 1948 in the movie 'A Date with a Dream' and his First TV 'Wit and Wisdom' also in 1948. And Up until 2004 starring on TV in 'Five Children and It'.
