The Stone Tape is a spooky 1972 BBC television play directed by Peter Sasdy and written by Nigel Kneale of Quatermass fame. Like Jonathan Miller's BBC MR James adaption Whistle And I'll Come To You, The Stone Tape was first shown at Christmas and is both fondly remembered and generally regarded to be one of the more scary things transmitted on British television over the years.
